Over the years, además has worked with many incredible partners, organizations, and teams. Here are some of the current groups that assist us in achieving our mission.

GrowingGreat

GrowingGreat’s mission is to empower children to make healthy food choices through hands-on science and garden education. They serve under-resourced, inner-city Los Angeles neighborhoods, with partners across the U.S. impacting over 15,000 young people each year. They teach in school gardens and classrooms and offer virtual programs and videos to support parents and children learning at home.

We are partnered with them through both our Book Buddies program and our GrowingGreat Book Delivery programs.

Arvin Pierce

Arvin Pierce is an accomplished beekeeper and gentle soul from Waverly, Illinois. He initially started keeping bees in order to save money while improving his diet, but it blossomed into a passion and career. Arvin now holds 30 hives at his home, handles colony removal and relocation, and swarm captures around Illinois, all without using chemicals of any kind. He also travels to schools to educate students on the importance and beauty of bees, even establishing bee hives at some sites. Arvin now holds a position as an adjunct professor at Blackburn College where he passes on his knowledge to beekeepers of the future.

We are partnered with him through our Save More Bees initiative.

Hurricane Island

The Hurricane Island Center for Science & Leadership delivers STEM experiential education programs lasting 2-10 days for youth ages 11- 18.

They inspire individuals to become impassioned change leaders and informed citizens in confronting current and future environmental challenges. Their research agenda focuses on answering local high priority questions and increasing scientific capacity regionally. They pursue initiatives that increase their knowledge through the scientific process, and the knowledge gained then informs communities and empowers people to take action.

We are partnered with Hurricane Island through their Women of Water program.

Kidzeum

Kidzeum is a museum dedicated to creating experiences of learning and discover through play for children of all backgrounds and abilities. They are committed to nurturing health and wellness, promoting science education, and to developing environmental and global awareness through innovative programs and exhibits.

We are partnered with Kidzeum through our Book Buddies program.

ProEsteros

ProEsteros is a nonprofit organization working to achieve conservation of wetlands through the balance between development and protection of the environment, for the benefit of present and future generations. They are located in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, and work mainly in the northwest zone of Mexico.

We are partnered with Pro Esteros through our Book Buddies program.

Feeding Families

Feeding Families is a volunteer group located and operating in Maneadero, Mexico. While initially focused on food, etc. for farm worker families during COVID, they are now focused on providing reading and writing materials to local children, as well as educating them in the Spanish language.
